For us leaving outside Europe, the Spötify integration for Tesla has finally arrived with V10. We’re big fans of Spotify and have been Premium users for about ten years now, so we’d like to share a trick or two.
I first went into Spotify via internet browser (not the app) and then 'set a device password'. Then go to the Spotify profile and take note of the email address displayed there. Then use that email address as the username along with the new device password to log into the Tesla. - Sure enough, with the wider release of Tesla V10 (2019.32.10) to American owners with the Full Self-Driving package, Tesla is including Spotify: Listen to music via Spotify. You can select Spotify.
- Of note is that Tesla owners will have full access to Spotify Premium in their cars, even without a subscription. Outside the confines of their Model S, however, they'll need to have the $10-per-month Spotify Premium service to keep listening ad-free.
First, set up the account. Tesla requires a Spotify Premium subscription (the one without ads) in order to be able to use the built-in integration in your car. If like in our case, there’s more than one person driving the car, you may want to upgrade to the Family plan. In our house, we have two cars and we both drive the Tesla. We’re very picky with our music and don’t want others messing up our recommendations and lists, and we also don’t want Disney music and other favorites of our two daughters to appear in our Daily and Weekly mixes. So the family plan is perfect for us. Why? A Spotify Premium subscription in the United States costs $9.99 / month, we were paying two of them. The Spotify Family plan costs $14.99 and includes up to 6 accounts. That means we save $5 and get 4 more accounts, which we can set up in the Tesla, the Sonos at home, or some other devices. Another very important reason to not use the same account in multiple places (e.g. car and home) is that you can’t play music with the same account on different devices at the same time (like you’d be able to do with Netflix, for example).
Once you’ve set up your Spotify account, let’s see how you perform usual actions like searching, playing, and saving music. I put together this video to show how it works:
As you can see, you can search and save lists, Spotify has tons of recommended lists and radio stations (ala Pandora). But you can also create your own lists. Another cool feature from Spotify is that you can connect with your Facebook friends and create and share playlists (you can also see what they are playing, but that’s another story it’s not supported in the Tesla integration for now). These shared lists can also be accessed from your Tesla. Ios 11 free spotify premium.
One important thing is that apart from your “favorites” list, for now, there’s no support to create playlists from the Tesla Spotify app. But you can certainly do so from your phone and desktop (which is honestly much more convenient) and have these show in your car.
The second part of my video shows how to create a list, add songs to it, and make it appear in the car.
Spotify For Tesla
We’ve read about Spotify on Tesla not supporting playlists over 200 songs, but we’ve tried and it seems to work just fine. In case you need it (which seems unlikely), Spotify supports playlists up to 10,000 songs.
Another thing that is not supported on Spotify on your car is podcasts. We have a trick that Legobricke shared on Reddit which is that you add a podcast to a playlist and that will work. New episodes won’t be automatically added to the playlist though.

Another trick is to play Spotify in your car from another device, for example, your phone. Really what you’re doing is treating your Tesla speakers as another speaker which appears on your Spotify app.
After logging both in your car and your phone with the same account, you’ll see that under speakers you can connect to your car as you would for any other speaker. You should see a screen like this one.
From your phone, tap on your car’s name (Tesla Chispas in the image above) and voilà. You’re ready to play music or podcasts from your phone to your car.
This would allow you to play podcasts too since you’d be playing them from your phone (not from your Tesla) without adding them to a playlist. You’d also not see them in the car UI (at least for now).
This is not new from V10, you could technically do this via Bluetooth, but not via the integration and the sound is much better (and louder) now.
We hope this article was useful and that it helps you make the most out of Spotify in your Tesla with V10. Rock on! ?

Most of the motor vehicles are using non-renewable fuels today. As the name indicates, they are not getting replenished in accordance with the excessive use. For the same reason, we are looking out for other fuels to shorten their rate of exhaustion.
In some markets, electric cars have already become a big thing. Given the electricity can be produced from renewable sources, the depletion issues never come into the picture. And, when it comes to electric motors, we can’t overlook Tesla Inc.
Ten years into the market, the Elon Musk-helmed brand has become the world’s best selling plug-in passenger car manufacturer in 2018. In the US, they have achieved 280 percent growth in the sales with 182400 vehicles delivered in the same year.
Last month, Tesla started rolling out version 10 of its in-car software with a few new features. Of all, Spotify support was the most craved for. Even though all the users in other markets were enjoying it, the US customers got it only with Software Version 10.0.

Of course, Spotify is one of the most popular music streaming services. But, when it irritates you with glitches, you won’t mind switching to the native music app, right? Ever since the new update, Tesla car users have been experiencing multiple problems on Spotify that they have to use Slacker Radio often.
Ever since the most recent update, when they introduced Spotify to the display built-in, it doesn’t work properly.
Whenever I get into the car, go to the Music and start up Spotify, it shows the Menu… all good. But when I click “Songs” where it should show all my “Liked (Songs)”, it like never loads. I have to exit the Spotify Menu to something else, say TuneIn, go back to Spotify, click “Songs” and then it might (1) not load again or (2) load up all my songs right away. Surely you’d agree I shouldn’t have to normally go through that back and forth just to get my “Songs” to show up.
In the times where I didn’t give up and switch to using my iPhone X and play Spotify through there via Bluetooth, when I use Spotify to play from “Songs”, and click on the Shuffle icon to where it’s lit up, when the current songs ends, it STOPS and doesn’t continue to play other songs in that ‘playlist’ of “Songs”.
Have any of you experienced similar issues? So far, I haven’t seen any reported issues regarding Spotify on the display so I’m thinking this is a remote issue.
Thank you all!

We could find numerous concerns from the vexed users on Reddit. For some, the Spotify app fails to connect to the internet. Instead, it shows the spinning wheel. A restart or switching over to another app and returning shortly fixes the bug.
Tesla Spotify Premium
Another odd problem is the absence of audio. Spotify free hulu premium. The customers could see the playback time, but no sound. Weirdness doesn’t end there. It also has troubles saving the albums. When you log out or reboot, you lose it forever not to be found.
Even Twitter isn’t devoid of the outcries from the annoyed customers. Many reported that the client on their cars hadn’t played the next track, but instead repeated the ended one over and over again. The company didn’t address any of the glitches until now.
Is Spotify Free On Tesla Model 3
Spotify isn’t a new app to Tesla, the US users are late to receive it. So, they already had enough time to release a bug-free version. Leaving the past aside, we hope they will release a fix soon. When that happens, we will update this story.
